Leadership Identity Crisis: What Value Do You Bring? (#92)
CEO, Retail Organization
Although 2021 was a record-breaking year for our business, we saw a two month decline in the Spring of 2022 that was concerning. While on a team trip celebrating 2021’s top performers, I called an extra meeting to address the recent decline. Because I read Leadership Identity Crisis: What Value Do You Bring? (#92) the weekend prior, I decided to remind my top performers of their identity before addressing the missed revenue numbers. By changing my approach, each leader was able to walk out of the room chomping at the bit to turn things around.
Do you want to know the best part? I didn’t have to tell them who they were. They told themselves. All I did was remind them of who they were in the pandemic, and this gave them the confidence to win again.
Eliminating the Sting of Constructive Feedback (#97)
VP, Financial Services Firm
As a natural people-pleaser and self-critic, providing coworkers with feedback is difficult for me. After reading, Eliminating the Sting of Constructive Feedback (#97) my perspective of feedback was transformed. This newsletter gave me permission to be imperfect. I now focus my feedback on the correction, and don’t spend as much time worrying about the mistake.
I now enter these feedback conversations with confidence. This situation that was once caused stress has been made simple.
Too Many Choices. I Can’t Commit (#29)
Small Business Owner
2020 was a struggle! On top of COVID craziness, I had some health issues that kept me from getting things done. After reading Too Many Choices. I Can’t Commit. (#29), I realized that I had to take back my time by establishing priorities and setting plans. This change in thinking helped me keep my business above water, all while managing my health. I am now back to full strength and am using the skills I learned to grow my business!

What is “The Confident Leader”?
During the Covid-19 Pandemic, I began a video series called “Panic or Plan?” It was designed to equip leaders to navigate the doubt they experienced and to rise in the confidence they needed to lead during turbulent times. It took off. I then started this newsletter to equip leaders in the same fashion each week for the doubt that crashes across the bow of their leaderSHIP.
welcome to the club! I see you.
